Four puppies were expected in the Vampire Chronicles litter. The day Akasha was born I sent a text to my spouse saying, “There are 5 puppies, the last one is a girl with a cute little heart nose… and she is ours. Part joke and mostly wishful thinking. Until 30 minutes later I received a text back, “there is a fifth”. A million weeks later (or at least it felt that way) she was on her way home with us. I am always surprised when Akasha meets people their first response is almost always “she is so tiny and cute”. They couldn’t be more wrong! Akasha is BIG and FIERCE in all the ways that matter most. We had asked for a companion dog for the both of us, and adventure buddy that I could hike with, and team member for trying out dog sports. She is ALL that plus loving, ambitious, smart, driven, tenacious, and fearless. She thrives at anything we try. Want to do Fast Cat? “You Hecking bet”! Rally? “This way is left Hooman”! Tricks? “Is the moon made of cheese”? No really can I have some cheese? Nosework, agility, hiking, trail runs, travel adventures? “An Enthusiastic YES”!!!!! She is truly the one of the bestest adventure buddies and furry family members we could ever have. Perhaps less divination and more Tina’s uncanny ability to match humans and doggos… Still we cannot wait to see what else the future holds for our amazing Akasha.
